We have
a link to a Church and pre-school in Sierra Leone.
During
2008, we raised £5000 to send to help with the building of new
toilets.
Here
is a message from our link partner Georgie Kargbo and click some

Dear
friends,
Every once
in a while during our devotional times at home, Desmond would chant this
line: Our God is a good God!! and I would answer yes He is! this would
go on for some time, Our God is a good God! yes He is!!
It is good
to remind ourselves of God's goodness. Personally I find it much more
easier when I'm spending some time near the ocean (not very often),
gazing at the mountains, the palm trees, listening to the waves and
feeling overwhelmed by the beauty of a glorious sunset. And I
remind myself:: a God who created so much beauty must be a God of
incredible love.
Back in
the busy-ness of life I often struggle to hold on to this truth. An old
poem helps me in those moments to get the right perspective:
My cloud
of battle thus may dim
His veil of splendour, curtain Him;
And in the midnight of my fear,
I may not feel Him standing near;
But, as I lift my eyes above,
His banner over me is love.
Looking
back over the past months, I can't but say: Our God is a good God! In my
last news letter, I shared about the great things the Lord was doing at
Upper Allen Town Orogu.
The first
two school buildings is completed by the special grace of God and the
dedication and opening service was held in September 11,2008. We have
since moved into the new buildings and we were blessed to have two young
ladies from the UK to grace this occasion. We are seeing children within
the community coming into the school daily as it's the only school
within the community.
As new
people move into the community and seek a place to worship, we are
reaching out to them so numerically we are growing and is trusting
God to work in the lives of His people cause only He can do the
transformation. Orogu is a dark place and forces of darkness is at
work but we are confident that He who is for us is greater than those
against us.
I want to
thank God for the open doors for me to study again, it's not easy though
but His grace is sufficient. I have a lady (headmistress) who's
responsible for the running of the school so that gives me space to
focus on the church and study.
We are
doing clearing of the land that the good Lord has provided for the
Church and is trusting
Him to build His church as the gold and diamonds belongs to Him.
Thanks for
your divers support and continue to pray for protection and provision
cause we still have needs which we are confident is not too difficult
for our great God!
