Dear Lord, Please could you look after all the people who will be suffering from hunger and harm in South Africa while the World Cup is on. Let's hope that the nations can join together in harmony from now on. Thanks God. Amen.

Dear God, please look after everyone involved in this year's World Cup from the greatest footballers to the grounds men and hotel staff who will look after them all. Make sure there is fair play and everyone involved has a fantastic time. Amen

Dear Lord, please can you help all the players at the World Cup to play fairly and honestly, and to share the moment of playing together. Amen

Dear Lord, I pray that all the teams will travel safely. Amen

Dear God (I pray) that this World Cup event will be a joy to everyone and that it will be a shining example of peace and harmony to all nations. Amen.

Dear Lord, Thank you for this magic tournament. I hope all the teams perform well and I hope there will be great goals. Please protect players from injury. Amen

Dear Lord, I pray that the World Cup will help to bring together all the nations involved and particularly help to unite and heal some of the tensions that South Africa has experienced. Amen.

Dear Lord, I pray for all those involved in the World Cup, that they may play fairly and behave well. Please let them bring hope and wealth to the poorest in South Africa. Amen
