The 'Credit Crunch':

In this current economic climate, we are reminded of Jesus' words to 'Love thy neighbour'. It is a reminder to us that we all have a duty and responsibility to look out for each other. If you, or someone you know, is affected by the 'Credit Crunch', then please contact us for prayer and support.

Within the local area, there are a number of organisations that can offer practical help:

Mid Sussex Debt Advice Centre (01444) 232444, the Burgess Hill Credit Union 01444 243376, and for those who would prefer not to have a local face to face contact, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service on 0800 027 4995. Alternatively, see the local town council web site www.burgesshill.gov.uk.

The Chichester Diocese website has a letter from Bishop John which may be of interest here: www.diochi.org.uk - select the 'Pastoral Letter...' link.

Prayer:

God the Father, who created the world,
give you grace to be wise stewards of his creation.

God the Son, who redeemed the world,
inspire you to go out as labourers into his harvest.

God the Holy Spirit, whose breath fills the whole of creation,
help you to bear his fruits of love, joy and peace.

Our vision is for a Church that is:

  • Is warm welcoming and accessible.

  • Draws people to faith in Jesus Christ.

  • Throws its doors open to young people (those 19 and under).

  • Enables young people to connect with God and get excited about Jesus.

  • Encourages young adults and families to be part of a growing Christian community.

  • Engages with the issues of the day and strengthens them to live their lives in a network society.
